2025 πππππ πππππππ: Wildcat Road Fire

May 8th, 2025, at 4:03 PM, Camas Valley Fire was dispatched for a possible natural cover fire in the area of the 400 block of Wildcat Road in Camas Valley. Units arrived on scene 7 minutes after being dispatched and found a slow moving underbrush fire. Personnel quickly stopped the forward spread of the fire and moved to the mop-up phase. The approximate final fire size was just under a 1/4 acre. No homes or structures were threatened. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Camas Valley Fire was assisted by the Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA). From Camas Valley Fire, the units that responded were 4281, 4280, 4260, 4262, and 4270, totaling 9 volunteers.
With Fire season drawing closer, we want to remind everyone to burn yard debris safely by following the proper safety precautions:

β’ Always have a shovel, rake, and a charged hose or fire extinguisher nearby.
β’ Never leave your fire unattended.
β’ Only burn in safe weather conditionsβavoid windy days.
β’ Clear the area around your burn pile down to bare soil.
β’ Make sure your fire is completely out and cold to the touch before you leave it.
